On 31st December 2019 WHO was informed about an unknown cause of pneumonia in Wuhan city of China. The Chinese authorities identified aThe Chinese authorities identified a different kind of virus and temporarily named “2019-nCov” The First case of covid-19 was found in India on 27th January 2020 and on 30th January 2020 WHO declared the novel coronavirus a global pandemic.

On March 24 the Prime Minister of India announced a 21day nationwide lockdown. During this 21day lockdown, our lives have changed tremendously. Everything has just moved online- from school, colleges to the office.

This covid19 has shown a new phase of life. Many lives have been affected many have lost their jobs but the worst affected were daily wage workers. A sudden lockdown was announced which was an acceptable decision as no other option left to stop the virus from spreading.

We all know that lockdown was a harsh decision, as no other option was left but somehow, I feel that the government was not totally prepared for the lockdown. Everything was fine but the problem was with the daily wage workers as their earning was totally blocked. Due to this, not only these workers were affected but their families suffer too. As a result, many lost their lives not because of covid19 but because of starvation.

Many problems arise due to this covid19 but there are always two faces of the coin. Apart from all these problems something positive happened i.e. we get family time during this lockdown period. We should always learn something new so the lockdown gave us the new opportunity to acquire new skills.

Around September everything was getting normal. Schools and offices were getting reopened. Everything was back to normal. On January 16th 2021 Covide19 vaccine was launched in India giving priority to healthcare & frontline workers.

But as everything was getting back to track suddenly Covid19 second weave strike and everybody was shaken. No one was prepared for the second weave of Covid19, the only hope was Vaccine. But even after so much effort of the government in the vaccination process, the situation got worse, the vaccine too can’t help anyone. The number of cases and deaths are increasing day by day.

Everyone was affected but this time too the worst affected were migrant labourers. The only difference is that this time they were not affected because of covid19 but because of the fear of covid19. Many just because of fear left their jobs and moved to their hometown irrespective of how they would earn their livelihood and look after their families.

The situation is getting worse day by day no one has ever thought that whenever they will be calling someone to inform that their loved ones are no more; in return, they will get the same news too. Covid19 second weave came in mid-February, but in other countries like the U.K, US, Spain, Italy it came immediately. Do we don’t learn any lessons from these countries? Was vaccine the only solution even that too without the third phase trial? Today India’s situation is getting worse every single day. But who is responsible for this second weave of Covid19?
